Issues in Selecting a Planetary Brushless Gear Motor (FAQ)
Q1. Rated Torque and Peak Torque
Rated Torque: The maximum torque for long-term stable operation (must be ≥ 1.2 times the load torque to avoid overload).
Peak Torque: The maximum torque that can be withstood for short periods (such as starting and braking) (must be ≥ 1.5 times the instantaneous load).
Q2. Reduction Ratio and Output Speed
Reduction Ratio = Motor Speed ÷ Output Speed (e.g., if the motor speed is 3000 rpm and the required output speed is 30 rpm, then the reduction ratio = 100:1).
The output speed must match the equipment requirements (e.g., conveyor belts typically operate at 5-50 rpm, robot joints at 100-500 rpm).
Q3. Power Supply and Power
Voltage: Commonly 12V, 24V,48V, 72V (low DC, suitable for civilian equipment), 110V, 220V, 380V (high industrial voltage).
Power: Estimated based on "Power = Torque × Speed ÷ 9550", ensuring sufficient power reserve.
Q4. Accuracy and Control Method
Normal Scenarios: Open-loop control with Hall effect sensors (low cost).
High-precision Scenarios: Closed-loop speed regulation with encoders (e.g., incremental, absolute) (accuracy up to ±0.5%).
