When selecting a NEMA motor, the key considerations are electrical and mechanical performance. the following requirements:
Efficiency Test: Tests the motor's efficiency under different load conditions to ensure it meets the minimum energy efficiency rating required by NEMA.
Insulation Resistance Test: Evaluates the motor's insulation performance to ensure safe operation in high-voltage and humid environments.
Starting Test: Tests the motor's starting current and starting torque to ensure it can start smoothly under load conditions.
Durability Testing: Evaluates the motor's durability during long-term operation, including continuous operation and frequent starts.
Vibration and Noise Testing: Tests the vibration and noise levels of the motor during operation to ensure compliance with NEMA's mechanical performance requirements.
Environmental Adaptability Testing: Tests the motor in extreme environments such as high and low temperatures, humidity, and dust to ensure its protection level and stable performance.

NEMA Motor Mechanical Installation Compatibility Issues (Unique NEMA Pain Points)
1) NEMA frames and IEC frames can't be directly swapped: sizes are in imperial units, flanges, feet, and shaft diameters aren’t compatible; motors with the same HP/kW can’t be directly replaced.
2) Dual voltage windings (230/460V) wired incorrectly: wrong connections can cause high current and burn out the motor.
3) Confusing vertical/horizontal mounting (Foot/Flange) can lead to incorrect force application and deformation.
Electromagnetic interference, Signal Issues
Long cables from VFDs running parallel with power and signal lines can cause the encoder to miss pulses and trigger false alarms in the controller.
